CODA are featured in Architectural Review Australia/Residential 2009 Magazine for their Think Brick Awards 2009 win.

“We have sought to explore the potentials of brick to contribute to the pattern and texture of place. These things make a place memorable,” describe CODA of their brick’s role in achieving the scheme’s social objectives, “In the hostel building, brick is used as a reference to the domestic, creating warmth and security. On the houses, brick takes on a quality that is more tactile- individuals are closer to these buildings physically and mentally- this is really ‘home’.”

On the basis of this thoughtful and exceptionally well-researched engagement with both the social and technological components of the brief, the jury unanimously decided to award CODA the over-all prize for About Face 2009.
