CODA wins two Kununurra projects

CODA is pleased to announce we have been awarded two more projects in Kununurra. The first is a new office, administration and visitors centre for two Indigenous corporations. This project represents a unique opportunity for the Miriuwung Gajerrong Corporation and the Gelganyem Trust to create a building that will act as a flagship, and symbolic “home” for these organisations within the wider Kimberley community for the next 25 – 50 years. We won this project in association with local practice Mark Phillips Architects and we look forward to working with mark on this key project in the development of community assets.

The Gelganyem Trust was established in April 2005 as a charitable trust. The formation of the Gelganyem Trust marked the end of three years of negotiations and heralded a new era of self determination for Traditional Owners from the Argyle Diamond Mine area.

The second projects see CODA working with wunan to assist in the strategic master planning of key assets within and around the town centre.

These two projects add to our existing work with the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley on their Sporting Master Plan (with our mates from Creating Communities Australia) and their new Shire Administration Centre proposal.

CODA has just moved that little bit closer to setting up a base in the Kimberley – we really love the it up here!
