We’re very pleased that CODA’s Norfolk Farm has been shortlisted in the 2011 Houses Awards! Presented by Houses Magazine, this is an annual competition celebrating residential projects within Australia and the fundamental contribution Architects make to the way we live. The awards are divided into 7 categories from which one winner will eventually be selected as Australian House of the Year. Norfolk Farm was entered into the ‘New house over 200 square meters’ category and sits amongst a number of other admirable entries from firms across Australia, including Donovan Hill and fellow Perth Architects Iredale Pedersen Hook, with their Florida Beach House.
Norfolk Farm, located near Busselton in the South West, engages with and celebrates its surrounding landscape. Featuring two distinct building envelopes, the house can accommodate fluctuating numbers because of its ability to expand and contract. Beautifully photographed by Bo Wong, you can have a look at Norfolk Farm and other entries in the Houses Awards here.
The awards jury included Camilla Block, Director of Durbach Block Jaggers, Paul Owen, Director of Owen and Vokes, Kerry Phelan, Director of Kerry Phelan Design Office, Brian Zulaikha, Director of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, and Cameron Bruhn, Editorial Director of Architecture Media- it is a privilege to have been selected as a finalist by these notable professionals from within the architecture and design industry.
The final winner and individual category winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in July, fingers crossed for Norfolk Farm!
