Success for Women’s Health & Family Services!

Last night at an awards ceremony in Melbourne, our Women’s Health & Family Services building was announced as a finalist in the commercial category of the 2011 Horbury Hunt Awards.

This award not only rewards innovation and craftsmanship in brickwork, but the unique skills of the entire project team: architect/designer, builder, mason and brick manufacturer. Our success in this award is testament to the collaborative nature of the construction process.

These images demonstrate the experimental laying technique that saw the formation of a herringbone pattern throughout the brickwork. The woven pattern created by this bespoke technique sits perfectly alongside the existing tuck-pointed cottages.

And finally, well done to Fremantle architects Officer Woods for their commendation in the Think Brick Award!
